Our Portfolio

Everyone wants to invest in the next big idea. And at Human Ventures, we believe finding next big thing means looking for the next incredible founder. Simply put, we invest in humans. And this portfolio includes some of the finest humans we’ve ever met.

Business software for tutors.

  • Megan O'Connor

While Sam was building a virtual assistant tool, he turned to Human Ventures for foundational support. There, he met Megan, who had always wanted to make a difference in the educational world. Before long, they put their heads together to build Clark. Now, Clark is building business software for tutors—the scheduling, payments, communication, student progress tracking and more that goes into running your own tutoring business—so teachers can focus on the important work: teaching.

A professional gifting assistant.

  • Jonathan Jarvis
  • Co-Founder & CEO

For years, Jonathan helped Google envision the future—making films imagining future technologies, redesigning the brand and identity, and building the Google Assistant. But he always wanted to create an assistant that did more than just help people get stuff done. He wanted to create something that would bring delight into the world and help people build meaningful relationships.

So when Jonathan was ready to strike out on his own, he teamed up with Human Ventures, who saw a huge opportunity to disrupt the gifting market. That's how Token was born. Now, this professional gifting assistant helps people find personalized gifts—and it takes care of all the details. That makes it easy to delight people with thoughtful, stand-out gifts, while building a stronger network of relationships.

Connecting and empowering women.

  • Sophia Amoruso
  • Founder & CEO

The idea for Girlboss Media came out from a book—Sophia Amoruso’s book, #GIRLBOSS, which inspired women to redefine success on their own terms. After her book became a bestseller, Sophia founded Girlboss Media, with the goal of building a community of strong, curious, ambitious women. So with an excellent team beside her, Sophia is now making Girlboss a powerful reality.

Helping powerful films change the world.

  • Christie Marchese
  • Founder & CEO

When Christie founded Picture Motion, her goal was to give films with world-changing potential a better chance at success. The smart debit card for kids.

  • Stuart Sopp
  • Founder & CEO

Stuart started Current because he wanted to make banking work better for everyday people. So he created a smart debit card that’s making it safer to spend, easier to save, and faster to move money around.

Real jewelry by real designers.

  • Ivka Adam

After years in tech and eCommerce, Ivka saw an opportunity to transform the jewelry industry. So she built Iconery, the first vertically-integrated fine jewelry platform. Reconfiguring the supply chain using 3D printers, she and her award-winning team are making it possible for celebrities, influencers, and brands to launch fine jewelry collections without expensive inventory carrying costs. And in its first year, the Iconery team has already launched over 15 collections including ones with Rashida Jones, Michelle Branch, Luv Aj, and Nordstrom X Nike.

Easy payment tracking for freelancers.

  • Jessica Perez
  • Co-Founder & CEO

Jessica Perez is a successful fashion model, working with clients like Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated. And in her career, she’s struggled with the same challenges every freelancer faces. So she decided to do something about it.

At Human Ventures, we don’t just look for founders who fit the traditional entrepreneurial profile. Instead, we look for founders who have the skills to start and grow successful businesses—people like Jess. She grew her career from scratch, teaching herself the ins and outs of financial management in a competitive industry, and sharing her knowledge with others along the way.

Now, Jess has put her expertise to work building Tycoon—a financial tracking system that’s helping freelancers everywhere achieve financial independence.
